Core Group Members

The Imaging Foundation is currently run 100% by volunteers. Our core group is diverse, energetic and optimistic. They give tirelessly of their time and are the heart and brain of IF.

The complete IF core group meet together weekly via conference call. They also communicate via listserv, instant messaging and occasionally by telephone. The core group is a close knit family, who despite their geographical disparity; Atlanta, California, and yes, even Costa Rica are able to use modern technology, keep overhead low and efficiently reach for the worthwhile missions which define the Imaging Foundation.

In addition to our virtual meetings, our core group meet together once a year to discuss topical projects and future directives. This year we met in Grand Cayman and we were the guests of Sunset House, a hotel that supports our objectives and has been extremely helpful in our development.

If you are interested in volunteering for the Imaging Foundation please contact Wanda Rowan by e-mail at info@imagingfoundation.org or call us directly at 310 458 0210.

Wanda Rowan hails from Atlanta, Georgia where she spends her time as a software consultant. She signed up for the IF trip to Cocos because it seemed like a good way to combine her loves of diving and photography with volunteering in a worth while cause. The trip proved to be much more than that by being a learning experience where she learned additional computer and people skills while having a great time. Wanda’s hero is her father who was an avid diver during his commission as a Navy Seal and an all-around good guy.

Ana Martin currently lives in Washington State, after spending many years in San Francisco and Hawaii (where she ran a scuba charter business). She is now in the banking business and supports IF as its CFO. Her hero is her father who after leaving Cuba at the age of 56, came to the U.S. and re-started his medical practice. She shares his love for nature and photography.

Jay Ireland is a partner in Bradley Ireland Productions, one of the largest film and video underwater stock house agencies in the world. With over 30 years of experience as both a photographer and a diver, Jay Ireland has captured extraordinary images both above and below the water in some of the most exotic places in the world including Madagascar, Borneo, Egypt, and Fiji. His combined understanding of diving, marine wildlife, and the unique aspects of shooting underwater ensures he captures striking images.

Antonio Ramirez (Dory) started drawing before he could write. He loves design and working in a creative environment. Dory began his career as a graphic designer in advertising and then moved to Los Angeles to get involved in the world of animation. He developed a variety of skills that facilitate the production of motion graphics & photo-realistic images. Born in Costa Rica, he has a passion for the natural world. Dory incorporates this enthusiasm into natural history documentary productions. Seamless, organic computer sequences created by his team are created to be scientifically accurate while entertaining a continuously demanding world audience.

Steve Mehan is an art director / designer / photographer with 20+ years experience with Macs & design. He currently makes his home in Chapel Hill, NC. He collaborates with the Imaging Foundation on design concepts, creative ideas and other tasks. One of his first underwater heroes was Jacques Yves Cousteau -- no, wait -- maybe it was Flipper!

Steve Clermont brings a delightful mixture of business savvy, patience and quick wit to the team. Steve attended the Cayman Classroom Expedition and has been involved as a Core Team member ever since. Steve quotes George Bernard Shaw, "The problem with communication is the assumption it has taken place." Steve has brought a strong element of structure and protocol to Imaging Foundation leadership.

With Ana Trelles, the Imaging Foundation has not only found an energetic, articulate and intelligent volunteer, but also a great friend. Ana is spearheading the essential effort to create a Spanish edition of the entire IF web site. We want our information and educational materials to be available to everyone. Expeditions to Costa Rica and Ecuador should yield projects that benefit students, teachers and nonprofit organizations in the United States as well as our host countries. Ana is continuing her work from her home in Cabo, Mexico.

Rich Eicher brings his eloquent writing skills to the Imaging Foundation. Helping draft future IF document templates strongly positions us for the future launch of our nonprofit image database resource. Check out a sample of Rich's craft by reading through the Galapagos Daily Log. Rich's colorful prose successfully captured both the bricks and mortar as well as the 'esprit de corps ' of our Galapagos trip.

Curtis (KC) Pike is excited about photography, IF goals, travel and well, almost everything! "I am a scuba diver and dive instructor and enjoy wildlife both on land and in the water. The Imaging Foundation’s Galapagos expedition sounded like I might be able to combine both diving, my love of wildlife and ecology, while enriching and adding to my knowledge."

Kyle Johnson is IF's newest core team member. Kyle is the director of IT services for Student Affairs at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. He brings his computer knowledge to IF, acting as our new computer guru. Kyle enjoys woodworking in his spare time. He and his wife, Shannon, traveled on their first IF expedition to Cocos Island in November 2006.

Georgienne Bradley lives in Santa Monica, California. She owns and operates a production company and image stock house, founded the American Society of Media Phogtographers' Underwater Specialty group(which she chaired for six years), and is currently the chairperson for the Nature Photographers of America Specialty group. Having logged thousands of dives, Georgienne's passion is the ocean. As director of the Imaging Foundation, she believes the Imaging Foundation will bridge the gap between the need for quality images and the work being done by other non profit educational and environmental organizations. Georgienne hopes to use the images produced by the Imaging Foundation to develop innovative, engaging, and educational productions. Georgienne launched the first Imaging Foundation expedition in Tonga.
